Major attractions are the Ramsar Convention
Bird Protection areas with over 240 different
species of birds and the coastal areas themselves.

The Manor of Austrått, dated 1656 and with a known history from around 1000 AD, and the single, large Sessile oak, the northernmost in the world,
known as Austråtteika, in the nearby forest.

The fortress at Austrått, a German gun installation
from WW II going 5 levels down in the ground
and weighing in at almost 1 000 tons is also
of noteworthy interest.
